Due to most of our lovely fans has requested for the Nigeria geopolitical zones and their states for so long and not only that but also will be very useful for the student that really know what it takes to know their geopolitical zones in Nigeria and their states.

The 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria and Their States have not been entirely carved out based on geopolitical location, but rather states with similar cultures, ethnic groups, and common history were classified in the same zone. Nigeria is made up of approximately 400 ethnic groups and 450 languages. There was a need for the government to merge similar groups for effective allocation of resources.

North West Zone
Jigawa State, Kaduna State, Kano State, Katsina State, Kebbi State, Sokoto State and Zamfara State

South East Zone
loosely known as former East-Central State of Abia State, Anambra State, Ebonyi State, Enugu State and Imo State

South South Zone
loosely known as former South-Eastern State of Akwa-Ibom State and Cross-River State; former Rivers State of Bayelsa State and Rivers State; and former Mid-Western Region, Nigeria of Delta State and Edo State

South West Zone
includes Ekiti State, Lagos State, Ogun State, Ondo State, Osun State, and Oyo State
